Our First Multi-Cache

In June, we decided to do our first multi-cache, this is a cache that has multiple stages to complete, with each cache holding the coordinates to the next one... All Minnesota State Parks participate in a Wildlife Safari challenge and nearly all of them are set up as multi-caches...
We decided to head over to the Upper Sioux Agency State Park which is located only a few miles away from us to try one of these. It was a two-mile hike with eight caches along the way.
We took time to enjoy the views and really admire this beautiful park!
There were quite a few historic sites along the way, most of which revolved around the Dakota uprising.
We thoroughly enjoy our first multi-cache and our first state park quest... thought about vowing to make it to all 72 state parks, but decided that was quite a task to undertake! So we will simply visit any of them that we can and enjoy the journey!

Micro Cache...

The other weekend when family was home, we took a walk down to a local cache in Cottonwood. That day we found our smallest cache to date... this micro cache is magnetic and was tucked in the corner of a historical site here in town. It was a very fun find!

Inside this little guy was a slip of paper on which we need we have to sign our names... very tricky with such a small find. We will hopefully be back out this week searching for more finds!

We're back at it!!!

Last week we hit the road and headed back out for Geocaching! Life has been crazy with my first winter, birthday and a big move!!! BUT, we are back at it!
Now that I have grown a little since last summer, I have to say, I think one of my favorite parts of geocaching is hanging my head out the window of the car.

Our first cache since we went out last fall was huge! Look at the size of that thing!

Right after the first cache, I was a little naughty and chewed through my leash, which was pretty sad, cause then I spent the rest of the evening sitting in the car... ugh...

I watched from the window for the rest of the trip, but luckily they were quick finds and we were headed back home! I got a new leash and we are headed back out tonight, I'll keep you posted!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Haven't gotten out to geocache lately... things have been really busy! Looks like it is going to be that way for a while, and the rain has made everything a mess! Looking forward to some sunshine this weekend!

My First Geocache!!!

On Monday, August 18, 2009, I set out to find my first Geocache! (I even got a new retractable leash for the occasion!)

We set out to find the cache located on the banks of Plum Creek, near Walnut Grove, MN. This is the very same area that Laura Ingalls Wilder spent most of her childhood!

We got a little lost, as we were having trouble with our GPS… but took this opportunity to enjoy the scenery!

We were about to give up and come back another time, but then we decided to check one more spot… and there it was!!!

We opened it and were really excited to find a Travel Bug in our very first cache! We decided to take the travel bug and move it this weekend; we also took a water bottle so that I can stay hydrated on our future hunts!

We left my first Tails of Ruger card (#001) at this location, in addition to a flashlight, hand sanitizer and a mini deck of Uno cards. I was all tuckered out so we headed out and I slept the whole way home!

Stay tuned for our next adventure!!!

Hello, I'm Ruger!

I live near Marshall, MN and this is where you can follow me and my adventures! I started geocaching in August 2009! I have created cards that I am placing in each of the caches I come across, if you see one, please take and move it to a new cache!

But, be sure to leave me a message here, including the card number ,(link to Guestbook on sidebar) so that I know how far my cards are getting!

Also, please feel free to email me and tell me about the cache you found and your caching experience, I also love pictures! So take a picture and email it to me, who knows, I'll maybe even post it on my blog!

I hope you have a great day, and happy geocaching!
